This Privacy Policy describes how StockSpatial, operated by Spatial Sense LLC ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our Platform at stockspatial.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: name, email address, profile photo, bio, social media handles
• Payment information: processed and stored by Stripe. We retain only Stripe customer and account identifiers, not your card details.
• Content metadata: titles, descriptions, keywords, camera information, resolution, and format details for uploaded Content
• Project disclosure: project name, production type, and distribution channels provided at the time of Content purchase
• Communications: support requests, feedback, and correspondence you send to us
• Model and property releases: uploaded as part of the Content submission process

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, clips viewed and previewed, search queries, time spent on pages
• Device information: browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution
• Log data: IP address, access times, referring URLs, request data
• Cookies: we use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies from third parties.

Information from Third Parties

• OAuth providers (Google, Apple): name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up or log in using these services
• Stripe: transaction confirmations, payout statuses, and identity verification results

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate the Platform: manage accounts, process uploads, facilitate sales, deliver purchased Content
• Process payments to Buyers and payouts to Contributors via Stripe
• Send transactional emails: purchase confirmations, sale notifications, payout receipts, license reminders
• Share project disclosure information with Contributors when their Content is licensed
• Improve Platform features, fix bugs, and monitor performance
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Enforce our Terms of Service, Content License Terms, and Contributor Agreement
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (storage and CDN), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your information.
• Contributors: when a Buyer purchases a license, the Contributor receives the project disclosure information (project name, production type, distribution channels) and the license tier purchased. Contributors do not receive the Buyer's personal contact information.
• Public profile: your display name, avatar, bio, social media handles, and Content metadata are publicly visible on the Platform. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
• Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of StockSpatial, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except as required for legal or compliance purposes.
• Transaction records: retained for 7 years for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
• License records and project disclosures: retained indefinitely as proof of licensing terms for both Buyers and Contributors.
• Server logs: retained for 90 days.
• Content and media files: removed from storage within 30 days of Content removal or account deletion. Files associated with active licenses are retained until all associated licenses have expired.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Export your personal data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS on all connections)
• Encryption at rest for stored data
• Row-level security policies on our database
• Secure password hashing
• Content Security Policy and security headers on all responses
• Regular security audits and dependency updates

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. We ensure that all data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on the Platform at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
